Welcome to San Diego Bird Rescue
Saving One Beak At A Time
Meet Boo. Our sweet Umbrella Cockatoo. This picture was taken at the time of intake. Notice she HAD a prolapsed cloaca. She was in that condition for over a year PRIOR to coming to us.
She was scheduled and completed surgery the next morning after we took her in. Since then, she had to have another surgery which was also successful!
We decided to do a short bio on her, to let the public know what things can happen to birds, but there are always options. These little guys & girls deserve the best, and it hurts us when things like this go untreated. she is absolutely one of the sweetest, loving birds we have ever seen!
She was on antibiotics and pain meds for a bi,t but is healthy, happy and ready for luv! If you or someone you know is looking for an incredibly sweet bird, let us know.
In Loving Memory of Panama
Panama was our sweet Amazon who left this earth on May 2,2013. She was 39 years young, but became ill after being egg bound. She didnt warm up to alot of people here, but she would fly around the Aviary going from cage to cage until she trusted you. Then she would find you, fly and land on your shoulder. She was a good talker and a true clown. She will be missed and surely not replaced.
